MEDICAL UPDATE ON GAVIN FLOYD

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Indians today announced RHP GAVIN FLOYD has suffered a re-injury of the elbow stress fracture that ended his 2014 season.

The Indians Medical Staff is currently in the process of gathering information on the best treatment option for Gavin, which may include another surgical fixation. When additional information on treatment options becomes available, it will be provided by the club.

The time frame for Floyd returning to action will be directly correlated with the course of treatment and will be updated at that time.  He is out for the foreseeable future.  Floyd suffered a stress fracture of the right olecranon in his right elbow last June 19 while pitching for the Atlanta Braves and underwent season-ending surgery on June 25 to stabilize the fracture.
